Meat Company Braća Pivac cleared to take over Vajda

The Croatian Competition Agency (CCA) cleared the concentration between the meat companies Braća Pivac and Vajda.

The concentration will primarily have effects on the following relevant markets: the production and imports of fresh beef, pork and meat products, the wholesale in fresh pork, beef, poultry and meat products and the retail in meat and meat products in specialized stores.

The market share of Braća Pivac and its connected companies after the implementation of this concentration will rise by the market share of Vajda. This means that the post-merger market share of the group will amount to 4 % to 14 % depending on the relevant market concerned.

Taking into account the competitive market structure, particularly the market share held by the parties to the concentration on certain relevant markets, as well as the fact that no reply was submitted to the request for information that was published its website, the CCA found that this concentration would not have any anticompetitive effects and cleared the concentration in the first phase.
