He was born on 20 September 1956 in Posavski Bregi, municipality Ivanić Grad, Croatia.

In 1980 he graduated at the Faculty of Economics University of Zagreb. He is also a certified auditor.

He specialized in microeconomics in the field of accounting, finances, commercial activities and work organization.

Until October 2003 he was an executive in several companies engaged in industrial sector, as well as a member and president of the board. As a chief executive officer he worked on development and restructuring programs for companies and on implementation of these programs that were aimed at ensuring their competitiveness in the domestic and international markets.

Since October 2003 he has been the member of the Competition Council.
