{"id":4618,"date":"2015-02-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-02-16T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aztn.hr\/cca-opens-proceeding-against-gemicro\/"},"modified":"2022-09-19T09:54:59","modified_gmt":"2022-09-19T09:54:59","slug":"cca-opens-proceeding-against-gemicro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aztn.hr\/en\/cca-opens-proceeding-against-gemicro\/","title":{"rendered":"CCA opens proceeding against Gemicro"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Croatian Competition Agency opened a proceeding against the undertaking Gemicro active on the market in the provision of specialised IT support to companies dealing with leasing and other forms of financing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Based on the initiative of the undertaking Modulus informacijske tehnologije the CCA opened an ex officio proceeding for the establishment of alleged abuse of a dominant position against the undertaking Gemicro.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gemicro is an information system provider for leasing companies involving implementation and maintenance of specialized business software necessary for the work of leasing companies, preventing them to employ and hire its former employees.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It must be noted that the initiation of the proceeding merely means that in the course of the proceeding the CCA must establish whether the described behaviour of Gemicro constitutes abuse of a dominant position by an undertaking in the market within the meaning of competition rules and this in no way prejudices the result of the proceeding.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Besides the proceeding at issue, upon the request of the Ministry of Finance the CCA also gave its opinion on the proposed Draft Insurance Act in which it stated that in the sense of competition rules it had no objections with respect to the draft legislation concerned.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Note that the Agency issues expert opinions at the request of the Croatian Parliament, the Croatian government, public administration authorities and local and regional self-government units.
