The aim of the protection of market competition is primarily to create benefits for consumers and equal conditions for all entrepreneurs on the market, who, acting in accordance with the existing rules and competing on the market with the quality, price and innovation of their products and services, contribute to the overall development of the economy.
CCA adopts Initial Report of the Trustee PricewaterhouseCoopers in monitoring conditionally approved concentration Eagle Hills Zagreb Real Estate and Sunčani Hvar
The Croatian Competition Agency (CCA) adopted the Initial Report of the Trustee PricewaterhouseCoopers d.o.o. on the implementation of conditions and obligations contained in the decision on conditionally approved concentration between the undertakings Eagle Hills Zagreb Real Estate d.o.o. and Sunčani Hvar d.d. of 22 January 2025 subject to fulfilment of commitments by the undertakings concerned with the view to eliminating competition concerns.
Applying its own method, the Trustee PricewaterhouseCoopers d.o.o. took initial monitoring actions regarding the behaviour of the undertakings concerned in complying with the commitments under the decision concerned and stated that in the period concerned the conditions and obligations have been complied with and made its own proposals with respect to the implementation of the remedies. It added that it would continue to monitor the behaviour of, and the commitments complied with by the undertakings concerned throughout the duration of the concentration and report to the CCA as necessary and as stipulated under the decision concerned.
The CCA accepted the actions of the Trustee in two points and advised the Trustee regarding the last point to carry on with the monitoring activities and reporting in the following report period within the meaning of objective reasons why the measure was partially fulfilled in case this trend continues.
The CCA notes here that the purpose of reporting is to ensure both the Trustee and the CCA the monitoring of the implementation of the conditions and obligations under certain deadlines stipulated under the decision regarding the duration of the conditionally approved concentration between Eagle Hills Zagreb Real Estate d.o.o. and Sunčani Hvar d.d.
