The aim of the protection of market competition is primarily to create benefits for consumers and equal conditions for all entrepreneurs on the market, who, acting in accordance with the existing rules and competing on the market with the quality, price and innovation of their products and services, contribute to the overall development of the economy.
CCA participates in the OECD Competition Committee meeting in Paris
The Croatian Competition Agency (CCA) participated in the meeting of the OECD Competition Committee, held in Paris from 22 to 26 June 2026. CCA was represented by Mirta Kapural PhD, president of the CCA Council, and Ljiljana Pavlic, MSc, Chief Adviser for Economic Affairs.
CCA’s cooperation with the OECD is carried out on a continuous basis through its participation in the work of the OECD Competition Committee which meets twice a year. The Republic of Croatia has held participant status in the Committee since 2016. CCA also participates in the OECD Global Forum on Competition, which provides a platform for dialogue and exchange of experience among competition authorities from jurisdictions worldwide, regardless of the OECD membership.
The work of the OECD Competition Committee is structured around thematic roundtables and policy discussions, supported by written and oral contributions from participating jurisdictions. The June 2026 meeting addressed the following topics:
- competition and corruption in public procurement procedures;
- prioritisation and enforcement discretion of competition authorities;
- competition policy and consumer protection in digital markets;
- information exchange in competition law and policy; and
- national security considerations in competition policy enforcement.

During the meeting, CCA contributed with written submissions on the topics of information exchange and prioritisation. In addition, CCA delivered an oral contribution addressing competition and regulatory issues in the healthcare sector, with a focus on current challenges and enforcement experience.
