CCA accepts the Second Report of the Monitoring Trustee in Eagle Hills Zagreb Real Estate d.o.o./ Sunčani Hvar d.d.
The Croatian Competition Agency (CCA) has adopted the Second Report submitted by the Trustee PricewaterhouseCoopers d.o.o. monitoring the implementation of the remedies imposed by the decision on conditional approval of the concentration between Eagle Hills Zagreb Real Estate d.o.o. and Sunčani Hvar d.d.
Based on its independent assessment and in accordance with its monitoring mandate, the Trustee concluded that the undertaken commitments set out in the conditional approval decision are being implemented in full while the CCA approved the Trustee’s Report in its entirety.
The first commitment, relating to structural and periodic investments in hotel capacities, remains ongoing and is being implemented in accordance with the timetable specified in the conditional approval decision. During the relevant reporting period, the Trustee verified that the investments carried out substantially exceeded the minimum required under the commitments. These investments contribute to enhancing the quality of the accommodation offering and strengthening the competitiveness of the tourist destination concerned.
The second and third commitment, concerning the maintenance and further development of the existing supply chain, have been also implemented in full compliance with the conditional decision of the CCA. In particular, the Trustee observed the expansion of the suppliers’ network, including increased engagement with local suppliers. This supports the local economy and reinforces the integration between the tourism sector and domestic production.
Finally, the Trustee’s overall assessment of the implementation of the commitments indicates positive effects on investment, employment, and cooperation with local partners in the tourism sector.
The CCA emphasizes that trustee monitoring serves to ensure the effective, timely, and complete implementation of all commitments and obligations attached to the conditional approval of the concentration. The Trustee will continue to monitor the fulfilment of the remaining commitments and submit subsequent monitoring reports in accordance with the CCA decision.
