Croatian Competition Agency and Croatian Competition Law and Policy Association: Webinar on organizational aspects of competition authorities

On 23 November 2021 the Croatian Competition Law and Policy Association organized another webinar, this time dedicated to “Organizational aspects of competition regulators”.

The webinar was run by Mr Tadija Kristić, spec. publ. admin, from the Croatian Competition Agency (CCA), who presented his research paper “Organizational aspects of competition authorities” (available at https://doi.org/10.31297/hkju.21.2.4) to the members of the Croatian Competition Law and Policy Association. The research paper won Eugen Pusić annual award for 2020 of the Institute for Public Administration in the category of best student research paper.

In the presentation of his research paper, Mr Kristić provided a variety of the institutional designs implemented by different market regulators in the area of competition. The analysis of the organizational models of the competition regulatory authorities in the European countries helped to get a closer look in the nature of the interface between competition authorities, specific regulators and consumer protection authorities. Mr Nikola Popović, PhD, member of the Council of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) and the moderator of the webinar Prof. Jasminka Pecotić Kaufman, PhD, addressed new organizational potentials in market regulation and competition policy in the Republic of Croatia with the view to strengthening the cooperation and coordination of independent regulators in the Republic of Croatia.
