4th Session of the Croatia-Azerbaijan Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation

The 4th session of the Joint Commission for the Implementation and Promotion of Economic Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in Zagreb. The session was co-chaired by Ante Šušnjar, minister of the Economy of the Republic of Croatia, and Adil Karimli, minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Discussions focused on further developing economic relations, industry and energy, strengthening ties between the business communities of the two countries, and exploring new opportunities for trade and investment.

As part of the session dedicated to strengthening economic cooperation, Branimira Kovačević, vice-president of the CCA Competition Council, highlighted that the CCA and the Azerbaijani competition authority have established professional contacts through the participation of their representatives in seminars and other activities organized by the OECD-GVH Regional Centre for Competition in Budapest, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.

These meetings provided a valuable opportunity to exchange views and experience on current developments in competition law and policy, as well as to strengthen contacts between the two institutions.

Building on the existing contacts, the CCA would welcome further development of bilateral cooperation with the Azerbaijani competition authority, including the possibility of preparing and signing a bilateral cooperation agreement between the two authorities.
