Notification of Petrol/Geoplin concentration dismissed

Croatian Competition Agency (CCA) has dismissed the notification of concentration of Slovenian undertakings Petrol and Geoplin. The same notification was previously dismissed by Slovenian Competition Protection Agency.

It has been established that it is a concentration that has a ‘Community dimension’, whereby the parties to the concentration had a world-wide turnover of over five billion euros in previous periods, while at the same time each of them recorded a total revenue of over 250 million euros on the EU market.

In such cases, the concentration is to be notified to the European Commission which decides whether, given the effects of the concentration on trade in the common market, to conduct the proceedings of the assessment of the concentration or to refer the case to a national competition authority.
